Her skull sutures had separated due to the extreme amt of fluid on her brain. The 1st sx was a god send. She was like a newborn at 5 mo old when she got it and smiled for the 1st 2 days later. She progressed but slowly over the next yr until her 1st revision when she just took off. The 2nd shunt obviously drained much better then the 1st and the speed of her progress in pt, ot, and especially speech doubled. the 2nd shunt broke within the the first 6 wks and we got our 3rd shunt.

I'm great, but the last few years my abdomen has been painful at the scar site. 2 years ago I went through x-rays and CTs with contrast to see what was wrong. It felt like I was being stabbed in the abdomen for months. They said I am fine, probably adhesions from scars. The doctor here told me he would rather I go see my original doctor in WI if I wanted surgery to fix it. Very upset I have no help for this. My abs are weak, making my back weak. Lots of back pain in my younger 20s.
