Our baby had some fontanel taps in her first month and showed improvement for two months. She then underwent an ventrilostomy, but required a shunt operation 3 weeks later, August 13. She appears to be doing very well.

I am a 41 year old mother and wife. I was diagnosed with NPH in the summer of 2005. I had Shunt surgery in Jan. 2006. The day after surgery, I was back to my old self. I was still nasues for a while, but after an adjustment that went away. The only pain I had with surgery was the incision in my stomach. Once that healed, life was great. I have jsut started having headaches again this summer. The first adjsutment did not work and I am going for a CT today.

Had my first shunt revision when I was 10. replaced the tubing. When I was 29 the tubing broke again, that part of the tubing was fixed. Another part of the tubing broke, all new tubing was put in. Then a new VP shunt had to be put in. So far so good.
