Sharing the scrapbooks with others helps me. Last time I shared my moms book, I cried. When I saw a picture of my husband shortly before he died, I really cried. I had forgotten how sick he was and how much weight he had lost.

I keep a jounal and document whenever an isolated memory surfaces; I find that writing down a recurring thought helps to dispel it from my memmory; sometimes I will document positive words and dialogue my father used when he was alive to honor his memory and have it documented so I can refer back to it whenever I feel insecure or need personal validation.
