Red Marker Reviews

One of the reasons why I self harmed in the first place was because the image of blood reminded me that I wasn't just an "object"; I was alive. Red marker pens- despite having an allergy to some inks!- helped me when I wanted to hurt myself because it felt like I was physically cutting the skin with my movements- when, as a matter of fact, I wasn't doing anything to myself other than drawing lots of red lines :)

But I feel it's not a healthy replacement. I'm still writing shit about myself...just in marker and not blood.

My therapist suggested this to me. It helps sometimes. She thinks that the blood is important for me. So, instead of actually drawing blood, the red kind of helped. Oddly.

Worked at first. Crayola Raspberry was the best for me. Stopped using it due to bruising from the pressure I put on the marker when using it.
