My daughter had her 1st surgery at 11 weeks. We stayed in the hospital for 3 days(was told 3-5 in NICU then 2-4 in room). We did not go into the NICU (YEAH!). At 1st it was scary for us due to her having an allergic reaction to the pain meds. I thought the NO-NOS were torture but understandable. My daughter is now 5 yrs old and looks like any other child. Her dr. told us she would need another surgery before starting kindergarten so we took her in last summer. Dr Kelly said she looked perfect..

He has had both lip and palate repair. He had the flu shortly after his palate repair and the front of his palate reopened his surgeon said she was glad it was just the front and not all the way down the palate. They are going to give him a retainer when he is a little older and repair the palate again when he is old enough for his bone grafting surgery.
