Reading is one of my favorite things to do. I have read about divorce, grief, and general Christian books to help my total outlook. It soothes me to read, even if I can't put it all into practice yet.

Reading is a passion of mine. I have read to stay strong, and by doing so, have learned so much.
I find reading up on subjects that pertain to you can be helpful, Remember that it is alright if you don't relate to the book or find it incorrect. It really helped reading Children of Narcissistic Parents. Having a parent like that is very damaging to a child.

Reading really helps me escape although I am not always able to focus well enough to read...part of ptsd I guess, I used to have 2-3 books going at once!
