Working / Worked
Very tough! Had 25 treatments and made it through all of them. The first couple of weeks, the effects were not too bad. Last two weeks were grueling. Eating a huge challenge and much fatigue. My father has completed his radiation and it has taken him 3 weeks just to start getting a little bit of energy back.

when we found out about it, we felt very sad for her
Working / Worked
Endured 5 weeks of Radiation. 2nd and 3rd week the fatigue kicked in heavily. during the 5th week I thought the therapy was going to kill me. I was completely exhausted. lots of sleeping during therapy.
Working / Worked
I had 6 weeks of conformal beam radiation preceded by radioactive seed implants. I have been cancer free for 8 years. I have had the usual side effects from this type of treatment and will be glad to discuss them with anyone.
Working / Worked
Both of my treatments have worked so far (crossed fingers). I have had extensive side effects from both treatments, but have learned, or am learning, to live with them. I have suffered more from post radiation problems from the larynx radiation than the prostate. i.e., heavy mucosa, dry mouth, gagging, and these cramps. I have decided these will be with me the rest of my life, so I have decided to live with them and thank the Lord for my life. I intend to enjoy it to the best of my ability.
Working / Worked
Had RAI in January and will only have full body scan in April, so until then I won't know what the outcome is. My taste has been affected and I was quite nauseous for the first week. I also started getting nosebleeds about a week after RAI. Not serious ones, but my nose feels very sore and dry inside.
Working / Worked
So far so good....having a lot of side effects but I think that is normal. I am sometimes worried because there is not a gynecology oncologist anywhere close to me. I am just trying to build up my strength...
