More counseling than psychotherapy. It was quite helpful in overcoming and getting to the root cause of some of the sadness, Temporarily,it caused distress at times.

Spent years with a psychodynamic therapist in addition to a handful of CBT therapists. I think I really needed a psychodynamic therapist to be able to face my emotions, to accept them and learn from them without trying to counter and negate them as I did in CBT. These days, I'm working with ACT in self-help and doing a lot with acceptance of emotions as well.
