Provigil helped with my excessive sleepines, but it gave me terrible pressure headaces. I wound up in the ER @ 4AM one night with severe peripheral edema and hypertension - at 31y/o I have never had swelling nor have I ever had a high BP reading. Since I've ceased taking Provigil, I've been fine. I've never had an adverse reaction to a prescription - I'll never touch this stuff again! I'd rather be sleepy than puffy and feeling like my head was going to explode.

Provigil has helped me to stay awake during the daytime hours when I am at work, but I do feel exhausted afterwards if I don't keep myself active. I found it hard to stay awake after work when I was finally free to enjoy my personal time. Provigil finally allowed me to drive my car without being afraid of dozing off and causing an accident. The only problem is that I lost my job and my benefits, so now I'm not sure how I can afford $12 a day for the medication that I've come to depend on.
