I take Prilosec on a daily basis. I get moderate relief and feel dependent on it just to eat.

When diagnosed years ago, doc had me take Prilosec daily for six(?) weeks then twice weekly for maintenance. That's when it was by Rx only. When that doc (my fave) moved on, I had to request Rx from new doc who put me on another Rx that didn't work so well. I insisted on Prilosec. This doc was not so supportive. Shortly thereafter, Prilosec went OTC, and I have continued the twice weekly regime, which is just right for me.

My son is on 20 mg of this every night and it has worked wonders for his reflux.
