Take it with every flare up, which is about once every six weeks. It takes 20-40 mgs to get it under control and sometimes it takes more.

I hate this medication...but it worked. When I was hospitalized this is what saved me. It's also what turned me into an insomniac with night sweats and severe acne all over my body.

Worked for what it was prescibed for, yes. Have had some side effects.

HATE IT!!! It does seem to do the trick in getting me into remission but the side effects are horrendous!! weight gain and facial swelling were the worst. The longest I've taken Prednisone was about 6 weeks.

It initially feels like a miracle drug! Instant relief of severe swelling that made my legs look like tree trunks, painful erythum nodusum and painful dozen at a time mouth ulcers and a fog lifted from your head!! I also had bad blurry vision and red eyes for years that is helped. But made me feel hungry, and emotional. Overtime it depleted potassium causing bad cramping in my legs and feet, caused dry dry flaky skin, some hair loss, extremely sensitive to the sun, bad taste in throat.

Ive had alot of side effects. for example bloated face, growing hair, loss of hair, stretch marks, acne, mood swings, anxiousness to eat, etc.

In conjunction with Lialda, it was effective.

It is working and I'm slowly weening off of it. I have moon face, a buffulo hump, gained many pounds, wake up in the night, clamy, and have terrible cramps from it.
