I found a Pilates instructor who specialises in small max 6 classes and tailors the exercises to your needs and abilities on a week by week basis. Although doing the exercises and stretches is painful it has helped reduce the background myofacial pain by about 30 50.

STAGE 3 HS for the past 11 years and I'm suggesting Pilates? YES! First, make sure your pain management is good. Pilates is designed to stretch, strengthen, & sculpt (for men & women) without CAUSING PAIN, based on the idea that pain=damage.Pilates builds, not destroys. For us, moving legs & arms can be impossible -- but stretching can feel so good, so depending on mobility (mine changes: sometimes I still need a wheelchair ) one can enjoy gentle pilates. The pilates machine from QVC rocks!
