Stretching exercises work well to keep muscles and tightness from becoming unbearable.

WORKED. See my note re Physical Therapy above. In addition and due to the severe hypermobility of Marfan Syndrome the only true stretch I can get is via Pilates equipment. Sure flexibility was a fabulous parlor trick when I was young and a surefire way to gross out the 7 year old nephews. You know how they love that! Ahem! With the passage of years this degree of mobility just sucks! Easy injuries and horrid pain.

I did pilates physical therapy and it did wonders! I try to do it still but it is hard for me to get motivated to do every day or even once a week but it did help a lot when I was.

Has been a big part of my recover thus far...but only because of a couple of amazing teachers who are very well versed in rehabinjury and it took me a couple of years to really start understanding the concepts that could help me pelvic stability spinal mobility strength in muscles to compensate for loose ligaments. I am now a Pilates instructor myself, hoping to help others with this work.

This has been tha single most helpful thing for my severe back problems. My lack of core muscle strength probably CAUSED them to begin with and strengthening them has been miraculous in relieving pain soreness and stiffness. And its surprising how long that core strenght stays with you. I hurt my shoulder needing surgery and couldnt do pilates for over a year and my back only started to hurt again after about 14 months. Cant wait to start again!

Makes me feel stronger! Gives me strength
