I use the PEC'S (picture exchange communication system and also TEACCH. Brilliant gives the child another form of communication, which can only limit outbursts due to frustration.

THis is very effective for my son. He likes to know what is coming.

Pics are very helpful for my son's vocab.He used to point and get frustrated through pic exchange He can now say what the pics are and is using words now and very few pics to express himself.

This is what the school does with him. Most days it works pretty good.

I'm a visual learner and a do-er. I don't do book learning. I'm illerate to a very strange end. I can read legal briefs etc but as far as recreation I can only read simple books like 'clifford' and that makes people mad and confused.
