It seems to work--my skin issues are much lessened. Supposedly it is keeping internal organ issues at bay too. I can only take the minimum dose of one pill per day because any more makes my skin itch like crazy!

I was hospitalized for 2 months this was in 1973. They had no clue what was wrong with me. until a Med student read a paper on Wilsons Disease. I was blessed with really good Doctors and was treated somewhat experimentally but successfully, although twice they expected me to die. I have my labs done regularly ceruloplasmin levels are always good. I have only had a liver biopsy once and only because I had to have my gallbladder removed. Anyway I am healthy, happy and doing well on the cuprimine.

My skin softened after a year in Penicillamine, but it gave me blisters in my mouth

used it in the very beginning, with many other tablets and I felt VERY BAD. I used for approx 6 months and stopped.

was concerned that needing lab work weekly, not a good sign, so d/c'd it w/ no change noticed. Do not have a Neurologist and using a GP for all problems.
Cannot use meds most use w/out experiencing problems. now, just on pain med which I think is overkill. Morphine! have same pain, but now hooked and trying to get off this drug. Bit by bit I lengthen the time between doses and really making strides. Other pain meds do not work , can live with the pain that I have, hope nothing changes there
