It has worked. I was on 3 pills a day and then cut back to 2 when I started feeling like a slug. Now I'm going hypo and have to cut down to 1 pill a day.

I have been on different doses of PTU and it has been very good for me. All my levels are normal now, but I still take a small dosage.

I have been on all kinds of doses of PTU. It worked for me. My liver has been normal, and I have now found out all my levels are normal. But still taking a small dosage.

responded well and now on smallest dose possible to keep my thyriod levels in the normal range. I've been on 1/2 a pill or 25mg for half a year now and even before I got pregnant. My endo says at this dose it is too little to effect the baby. I saw my endo today 09/11/07 and she took me off PTU completely. Yeah!!! No more meds!!!

I have been on PTU for 3 months now and I think I'm doing well on it. I still feel tired, some achy joints but my levels are normal and I have even decreased my dose :)

Had 2 bouts of hypER since 2005, was on meds both times, now been off for over a year and in remission, although antibodies are stil present

First time worked immediately and was weaned off very fast. On tabs for 5 months then fine for over a year, in March 07 levels went up only slightly, so back on meds.

PTU was effective in 2003 first time w/oside effects. Now I am taking this med. again and the side effects are hot extremities when I wake up at night-using benedryl

I was switched to PTU after my horrible reaction to the Methimazole. So far so good
