working, but miserable

started on step two and just finished 6 weeks and now starting step 3. being told two different things to do, one from a friend that has done the patches and one from 1-800-no-butts. I think the friend is wrong as the feelings from the beginning are back.

week one whole patch, week two cut it in half, week three cut it in quarters week 4 cut into 8ths week 5 no patch.... It worked like a charm. Cut out coffee because coffee went too well with smokes and took up hot chocolate for 6 months. After 6 months went back to coffee. Doing great B"H

I think I had the right frame of mind this time around. I got two weeks of 21mg patches bought a lot of sunflower seeds and raw veggies and went to it. I think the hardest part was actually picking a start date and going thru with it. The thought of never smoking a cig again terrified me. I approached it from an AA standpoint. I never think of quitting in terms of forever just today. I take it one day at a time. Day 16 the urges are coming less frequently and and have no sting left in them

Managed to quit smoking on 2nd day of patch used in combination with Zyban. Can only use patch on limbs - causes itchy rash if used on torso.

works, I use the patch and the lozenges in conjuction with a smoking cessation program. I go every Thursday morning. get support, CO2 tested, and get my supply of NRT for the following week. I really like this program because it holds me accountable.
