Somewhat Helpful
I've been taking this in the form of inositol hexanicotinate or 'flush free niacin'. According to various clinical trials, this form of niacin is more effective than nicotinic acid (niacin) itself at raising HDL (good) cholesterol and lowering LDL (bad) cholesterol, to a lesser degree, while being devoid of the ubiquitous flushing side effect commonly associated with niacin supplementiation as well as decreased hepato/liver toxicity common with Niaspan.

Just started this one. Don't know if it'll work. But the flushing is brutal

Niacin 500 no flush

put on it 12.06. no side effects yet! a little flushing but not so bad. when upped to 1000 mg XL, I have dreams that my skin is melting and wake up to burning all over. especially if I miss a dose.

Possibly mild suppression of ringing right after "flushing" caused by the drug, but no noticeable change in overall pattern. Ultimately, Niacin didn't work.

Started 12/07 b/c Trigs too high, also helps increase HDL's and Decrease LDL's. Take a baby aspirin 20 min. before to decrease risk of flushing...and take it at night.
