My doctor did a laparoscopic partial left nephrectomy. I only have 5 small scars the largest is 5in. My recovery was supposed to be 3 days in the hospital, there were complications and i was in for 8 days, 5 in ICU. I was able to go back to work in 5 weeks. Healed fast after I had a transfusion.

Im still scared shitless. It was a shock to my system, but im glad we are madewith spare parts

I am scheduled for a partial nephrectomy on 11/25/09.

Removed rt kidney 6/2008. Spread to lung by April 2009.

The end of March I went for an abdominal ultrasound suspecting gallbladder issues - my left kidney must have lit up like a beacon. On to CT and surgery on June 12 - home for a week now and feeling pretty good.

My husband has take Nexvar and sutent.The nexavar gave him diahrea and the sutent gave him constipation. Both drugs seem to cause tiredness.

They removed my kidneys thinking it would bring down my blood pressure...that didn't work. Now I am very anemic and my torso looks like I have been malled by a shark. But, when I go to the beach...and wear a bikini...I do tell the curious gawkers that the scars were from a shark attack...they don't get in the water after that!
