Had a radical nephrectomy in 11/2006 tumor was benign but i had a rare cystic disease of the kidney.
I am feeling better but have had depression since i was diagnosed

This helped but the Drs did not know that the tumor was in the renal vein and did not get clear margins

Laproscopic - lots of pain after, lots to learn. Worked so far as getting rid of the kidney and tumor, but did not prevent development in other areas. Now have a large hernia above belly button, which will require surgery following treatment of lungs, neck and brain.

My father in law had his kidney removed 12 years ago. He was told that they had gotten all of the cancer and with the help of Interferon he should be fine. He got his CT scans for the first 4 or 5 years but didn't keep up with them and by the time he did get another scan done it had already spread to both lungs.

It was not good. I had a bunch of complications, but my family was great and they got me through it. We are all praying that no sign of the cancer returns.

He had his left kidney removed eight days ago. The cancer has spread. So right now, we are just waiting to see if it helped

I feel slaughtered, but thankful to be alive after a open partial nephrectomy. Still painfull Late for my next check-up. I don't want to put my family through any more. They also did a full hysterectomy. i'm tired!

He will have surgery on Wednesday

I recovered well from the surgery but got C-diff bacteria in my stomach while in the hospital. That wiped me out.

Still recovering - may have an incisional hernia that will require another surgery. Will find out next week when I have my first post surgical tests.
