Dr had to take all of the kidney because cancer covered so much area. Also had to remove another type of cancer from the fatty tissue under the kidney. Start radiation in a couple weeks.

Partial right nephrectomy

Worked fine, but cancer had metastasized in ribs, so had it and rib section removed. This was also successful. After about 8 years nodules began appearing in lungs; focus of radiation and chemo.

I had my right side kidney removed and during the same surgery that removed my L2 vertebrae and replacing it with titanium spacer and other parts. This was August 24, 2011

I had mine removed laproscopically, which I highly recommend vs the traditional method if at all possible. Minimal scarring, healing is much faster and pain is manageable.
