The insertion was one of the most painful things I've ever experienced, and the week after it was hell as well, but since then it has definitely helped. Not a miracle, but helped.

It worked but my body rejected it, so I had to have it removed.

On this now. Not too impressed. Switched from provera due to stress related high blood pressure and a serious, unrelated issue causing severe depression (they were afraid the provera would aggrivate the depression).

THe Mirena took 6 months to even start making a difference. After a 4 month period, I did find that I finally started seeing a difference, but it only lasted a year, and now my pain levels are back through the roof.

Works somewhat. Decreased pain incredibly, however still have lesions, and endometriomal cysts on my ovaries. Had to get surgery. But the Mirena has made it so that I am able to function daily.

Can't really tell if it's helping or not.

I had a Mirena inserted for the past 3 years, having it taken out this past September. Insertion was extremely painful for me, as my uterus was adhered to my bowels and had to be manually "lifted" to make sure that it went in properly. They say that the pain is only very minor, I spent two weeks with a heating pad. I bled for 6 months before my periods got lighter and eventually went away for a few months. I had mood swings, but overall was happy not to have periods for a brief time.

I have to take norethindrone along with the mirena to stop my periods. Very painful to have put in. Reduction in pain/symptoms for about six months and now I get random pain that comes out of nowhere it seems. I don't have my period but do get random spotting every now and then.
