This is the second time I have had the Marina inserted. The first time round I bled every two weeks and my bleeds were heavy and still very painful. This time my periods have stopped but I feel this is due to my cervex being quarterized at the same time.

I've had some problems- like disappearing strings! And some possible side effects, then needed it removed for a surgical procedure. I won't ever know if it would have helped.

The Mirena has meant that I do not get so many episodes of such severe pain that I pass out etc. Since I have had it, I have also found that I don't experience so many symptoms that I have associated with PMS. I have not had a single period since insertion and so an inconvenience has been removed. However, I still experience debilitating pain daily.
