Methimazole is a drug used to treat hyperthyroidism, a condition that usually occurs when the thyroid gland is producing too much thyroid hormone. It is also taken before thyroid surgery or radioactive iodine therapy, to lower thyroid hormone levels and minimize the effects of thyroid manipulation. more at Wikipedia

Working / Worked
So far I've gained 20lbs in the past 5 months. The drugs are working (I CAN stop eating now). The Endo and PC are trying to convince me to do RAI treatment but I can't part from my thyroid gland. I'm feeling better than I have in a long time. I started on weight watchers 11/10/08 to lose this weight.
Working / Worked
Unsure if anything is really working. My levels are all over the place
Working / Worked
It had an almost immediate result with me.
Working / Worked
I got weird hives. and no because it caused me to get holes
Working / Worked
trying to adjust the levels
Working / Worked
It has lowered my thyroid function but now we are having trouble adjusting it, because now I am having symptoms of hypothyroid
Working / Worked
Worked really well. Felt good on Methimazole, but the endo took me off because I want to have a baby.
Working / Worked
my concern is weakness after about 20 minutes of walking. need to take breaks and then can walk again. am only 48 years old and used to be able to walk miles at a time
Working / Worked
My levels tend to "yo-yo" but they are certainly better than 6 months ago. Side effects - My brain seems to be slower than it used to :)
Working / Worked
seems to be working so far...feeling less symptoms.
