Methimazole is a drug used to treat hyperthyroidism, a condition that usually occurs when the thyroid gland is producing too much thyroid hormone. It is also taken before thyroid surgery or radioactive iodine therapy, to lower thyroid hormone levels and minimize the effects of thyroid manipulation. more at Wikipedia

I m doing better with this once a day 5mg and if I become symptomatic he said take 10 mg

At my thyroid storm points I was on 40 mg of tapazole a day ...now at a more calm point I am on 10 of tap a day...Prob the only thing that has helped me

Was started on 40mg/day. It was too much, so was titrated down to 10mg/day and went euthyroid. Was taken off the methimazole to see if I could keep stable, but was eventually put on 5mg/day.

Methimazole has always somewhat worked for me. It has at least helped me to feel better, in the sense that it seems to calm my anxiousness a bit.

It keeps my atrial fib in check and I do feel better on it. When I had to go off if it for my uptake test, I went back into A-fib.
