Methimazole is a drug used to treat hyperthyroidism, a condition that usually occurs when the thyroid gland is producing too much thyroid hormone. I started on 20 mg for the first week & felt horrible. The dose was increased to 30mg. Felt great but now I feel itchy.

When I have the money I get my levels checked. When I don't have the money to get my levels checked the doctor just gives me whatever dose I was on for my last readings.

Methimazole worked quite well for me. I took it in varying dosages for just about a year with no side effects.

I have had good and bad results. When I began taking this medication 2Xday 10mg. My numbers dropped into hypo when I put on alot of weight. I dropped meds down to 5mg. per day and my counts were fine. I had the Radioactive Iodine Scan that diagnosed me with Graves Disease. I have decided to continue on meds in hopes this will reverse itsself.

And beta blocker. Was ok but omg the wheezing cuz of my asthma but I needed it for my heart!
