They first advised for a lumpectomy but my mother chose a mastectomy because it gave her a higher percentage of the cancer returning. The same with the chemo and radiation, it just increased her chances of not having it come back

Began reconstruction while I was still under from the mastectomy. First was the tissue expander period (painful). Then the permanent implant. Lasted a year. Hated it.
