Macrobid worked to cure the UTI. My urologist had me take it for 6 weeks to prevent another infection. I became very sick with flu-like symptoms after four weeks of this medication.

I also get chronic UTIs (verified by urine culture). I pop a pill after sex. I tend to have fewer and less painful events if I can avoid UTIs on top of IC flares.
