Lithium is the only med that I have used since 1985 it has worked great for me. No side effects, I have followed Doctors instructions and never stopped taking medication. Only my immediate family knows other then a group like this I choose not to disclose. I am well functioning, take care of myself and able to work. I must admit that I am angry that this has happened to me and that I will have this diagnosis with me forever!

Worked for over 8 years like a charm. Stopped taking it because it either stopped working or I needed a higher dose. Got my first delusional episode, with hearing voices etc. Am still on it but my pdoc is trying other moodstab. to control the heavy cycling and the deep depression.
