I do a lot of listening with both my kids, I try to make sure they both get the attention they deserve and need.
the problems always work themselves out better if u listen to the problem and work out the best way to get thru it.

Right now everything is changing with my daughter now that have moved away from her father...patience is always the key.
Definitely works, but I've learned SOOO much about communication from a program that I found.

Listening to my gut seems to be my best bet. My gut tells me to run in the other direction my heart tells me to keep trying to fix him.
Usually works if I can calm him down, and keep myself calm in the process.
I try to take time to listen to my daughter about her day and what is going on in her life. Although sometimes I still hear "You're not listening to me"!
Teens are like everyone else we all want to be heard.
