The Lavenders are a genus of about 25-30 species of flowering plants in the mint family. The fragrant, pale purple flowers and flower buds are used in potpourris. The plant is also grown commercially for extraction of lavender oil from the flowers. This oil is used as an antiseptic and for aromatherapy. more at Wikipedia

My sister recommended I try lavender, I washed my bed linens and blankets in lavendar, plus lavender softner. I bought lavender body washes, lotions, body sprays, candles, air freshners and such. Lavender or even vanilla does make alittle mellow, or that sense of calm. The only thing with lavender is it makes my eyes watery and itchy.

I love lavender....baths, body sprays, linen sprays, lotions etc. For me I have to be careful NOT to get the scent too potent. When I don't sleep well, my senses get extra sensitive (my kids goofing around annoys me more quickly, I hear really odd/random noises and strong smells can really turn me off) so I must be careful with the lavendar. Use sparingly.

i have only used Lavendar scents when its time for bed, so that my mind reminds me it's time to rest, and it helps

My pillow spray and my neck and wrist balm relaxes me but no sleep.
