Without the stuff, I get crazy minded. If the doctors give it to anyone. TAKE IT. We must have 2 to 3 bowel movments a day. We also have to watch the protein intake per day. You can not over dose on Lactulose so if you need to take it more often like me then do it. It controls ammonia levels and that gets me a ambulance ride and a three day stay at the hospital. I can not run out of it.

I pretty much hate the stuff however, it has lowered my amonia levels and now im testing normal.

My husband takes at least 120 grams a day and sometimes that isn't enough. Sometime it makes him sick at his stomach but it is a necessary evil. We are creative with how we mix it to help him get it down.
