My mother experienced this. I worked well. The dialysis was a different story but it helped to keep her alive until she received a kidney transplant. Praise the Lord

My dad was an extremely good match, and so he was my donor. It worked great until 2010 when I had a rejection episode that my body never fully adjusted to and my creatinine levels have been rising since. Weren't many side effects beside the weight gain due to the Prednisone and the immunity issues. I will begin dialysis for the first time ever in early June.

It works great! Better than my own did. I have had it 32.5 years now. Amazing. At the time it was experimental and there was a 40 chance it would work for 5 years! I had many of the side effects from prednisone use especially weight gain. I had gastric bypass in Oct 2009 and am back to a healthy me. YES! I consider myself very healthy!
