Working / Worked
Even tho I only rec'd 4 mos. of treatment, that ended nearly 5 yrs ago; and my viral load at diagnosis was 267,000, it is now within normal range.
Working / Worked
The first 2 weeks are the worse, takes a while to get used to (however everyone is different). Side Effects include, aches in joints (especially in the left rib/spleen area) and bloated tummy - I look about 6 months pregnant! The scratching continues, but that is the illness rather than the treatment. Is bringing my levels down showly and surely meaning phlebotomy is needed less. Started treatment with platelets over 2 million currently 970. Red cells 41.2%

He was on Interferon when it first came out. It had some really bad side effects such as chills and blisters on his feet. The doctors seem to think that is what kept his cancer in remission for 10 years.

Was on it for one year back in 1996, tested negative each year since 1997! Side effects were flu-like, but for the most part I could tolerate the drug.
