Beta blockers are great to take the edge off. Non adictive no change in thoughts just blocks adrenalin and reduces physical manifestations of anxiety.

Propranolol has been a life saver for me. The tremors reduced within a few days to the point where I can now lead a relatively normal life. I still have the odd bad day but in general Propranolol worked for me with no side effects
