It keeps me from being in ICU on a respirator. The side effects for me are horrible. Headaches fevers chills I get 60 units every week because my platelets are in the forties

OCTAGAM - a blood product infusion given monthly as a ward attender at a local hospital is very helpful in cutting down the num,ber of chest infections -has to be prescribed by a specialist physician after blood tests.I have been having it monthly for 6 years and it has helped a lot.Side effects -you can get a rash ( or hives) after an infusion which then has to be treated with an antihistamine -usually piriton and a hydrocortisone injection.
