A hysterectomy is the surgical removal of the uterus, usually done by a gynecologist. Hysterectomy may be total (removing the body and cervix of the uterus) or partial (also called supra-cervical). In many cases, surgical removal of the ovaries (oophorectomy) is performed concurrent with a hysterectomy. more at Wikipedia

Working / Worked
After several other surgeries failed, I finally had to have a partial hysterectomy in Oct. 2005. Everything except my right ovary was removed. I was trying to keep one of my ovaries because I didn't want to have to take hormone pills. But I was in too much pain, so I had to have the right ovary removed in Jan. 2006. I have a beautiful daughter, but I'm still depressed over the fact that I can't have anymore children.
