i've been hospitalized 3 times for suicidal ideation and behavior.the main thing it does is keep you safe and keeps you from killing yourself. for the most part it helps you get back on your feet to face the world again.

this last hospitalization i had, sep 5-15, i was told i had symptoms of bipolar II. but i was admitted for being on the verge of suicide.for the healthier ones, hospitalization is never even needed, for the not so healthy ones, usually once is good enough, but when you've been hospitalized 3 times in 10 months,plus a few other times where you've come close to it, you know you've got a serious problem.
