Heparin was used while I was hospitalized and eventually, in serendipitous combination with an antibiotic, I reached a therapeutic INR. I have no idea what, if any, side effects there were as I was so ill with the DVT, PE and post-surgical recovery that I wouldn't have been able to sort out any of it.
