The heating pad has become a life saver for me. It has become my new best friend. I crank it to the highest setting and wrap areas of pain for about 10 minutes then move to the next area. I feel immediate relief many times. If the flare up is real intense then at least the pain is minimized to be more tolerable. It has helped me to get back to sleep when waking with excruciating pain.

I have to be careful when I use heat. If the pain is from my spinal injury and the subsequent nerve damage from that, it helps. If my sciatic nerve is involved, it can set off that nerve.

Most of the time, heat is very soothing and relaxing for me. The only thing I need to pay attention to is falling asleep with the heat on 'Medium' or 'High'...I've burnt myself before!

helps, but i tend to put ice on my neck to freeze the pain,
