Was done in treatment once a week. I found it difficult the whole time I was there, but impossible to relax and sit still more the first few weeks than later one. It helped me learn that I am in charge of my recovery.
I was reliving my trauma at the time and haveing a very painfull panic attack along with the racing thoughts and what ever else was going on inside of me att the time and had my therapist guide me dowen an elevator it worked really well, but have tried some recently with the same guy and it has only helped relax my body not my mind or soul.
It helped to relieve some of the anxiety I experienced after night mares and flash backs, but was again problematic in that i had to travel outside of my saftey zone to attend.

my mainstay
I think of being under a canopy of trees looking up and seeing some of the blue sky and sunshine peeking through. The woods was a safe place for me as a child.
a tape my counselor made, doesn't always work
in the ex forces treatment centre very helpfull before i became numb, now everything is just simply numb
it's relaxing and in a comfortable setting can be comforting but simple deep breathing exercises or stretching are just as helpful and can be done independently.
i mostly do it myself.. i love it.
Again, when I can clear all the cluttered negative thoughts
