Still working on this....

got the lap band...what a fiasco...no one told me insurance wouldn't cover the $100 fee every time I needed the band to be tightened, which was pretty much monthly.... I just did not have that kind of money... so what a waste of thousands of dollars I paid out of pocket....insurance did not cover it all...and to add insult to injury, I have constant acid reflux now, and have severly damaged my vocal chords....I once was a Soprano I... diva material with a gift from God, now totally destroyed.

But then I started on vicodin . . . . .

This was the best thing that happen to me.It is hard work but I am sticking to it and it hhas improved my life a 100%.It is hard for me to get the amount of protien I need but im not giving up til I reach my goal

i had the procedure in 2001 i lost 190 lbs. in a yr and half,but started to gai weight again in 2004...i have been up and down since..i didn't have complications at first but gradually post op..i have digestive probs like ibs,lactose intolerant,and i can still get sick if food gets caught..i am still 100 lbs down from where i was at..i only recomend this surgery if it is your only hope depending on your health and remember that they do surgery on your stomach not your mind and emotions

lost over 80 lbs, now band is half filled, just trying to maintain weight

I have been banded since November, and it is really just starting to work. I am slowly and I mean slowly loosing weight.

worked, I lost 160 pounds but have been stuck at 205 ever since, still have to lose 60 pounds.

My lap-band does exactly what I needed it to do. It keeps me from binging and overeating so I don't gain weight. The loosing weight part is my responsibility.

its working so far into 2 weeks now,lost 19 pounds as of monday
