Cleared debts of around $40,000 NZD but had a lot of hassles from the bank - if I had a lawyer I could have taken them to court for heaps of stuff they did wrong by law.Have had to start from scratch.

This was a plus because had I not filed Bankruptcy, I would have lost the 2 older cars I had because there were personal loan leins against them that I couldnt pay. I also like the fact that I no longer have to worry about creditors calling & harrassing me & trying to hide our cars...It's like your slate is wiped clean...some things are wiped clean & you dont have to repay them in Bankruptcy. It was a good decision for me, but I dont know how it will affect me once its done, but I had no choice

We filed for chapter 7. It worked to get rid of the credit card debt but the other things like car payments, insurance, phones, and other things is what we are trying to ALWAYS catch up on. For some reason our bills are high and we dont get why. There should be no reason why they are high. We dont even have cable.
