I have been on Elmiron for two yrs this time, and 1 1/2 yrs bfore. Had to quit due to no ins. and couldn't pay for it.
It may be taking effect now, and hopefuly it will continue to help. Most bad side eff. is I am loosing my hair daily and if it will help the pain, I may be bald woman before long. Just taking one day at a time.

Love it! I have mild IC, thank goodness. But I've been on it for six years and am amazed. No side effects, and I've had pain relief, can actually make it through an entire movie without getting up to pee, and even occasionally sleep through the night.

I took it for almost a year and it did help cut down on the frequency. At the time, my condition was not as bad as it is now, so I can't tell you how well it would work now. I stopped because I had insurance problems and was trying to find a new doctor. Side effects - hair loss, which stopped as soon as I stopped taking it.
