Electroconvulsive therapy Reviews
Working / Worked
Let me just say I would not like to have ECT again. Memory loss has been a predominate problem.

Helps, but the side effects were too much for me. Memory loss, disorientation. Vein inflammation. Phew!

I did not see any positive results. Memory loss, both long and short term is part of the downside of ECT. It was a last resort. However, I DO NOT recommend this treatment.

Had it in 1983; not had it since. It worked great at the time

Would like to have this done again. I think it's time my brain needs a re-booting
Working / Worked
Was extremely depressed and psychotic, so it worked.

I have profound retrograde amnesia now. I lost my short term memory while having it done and for about 6 months after that. Short term came back. Lost all of my long term memory. Although it worked for my depression I think the memory loss is depressing in itself. I don't know who I am or where I came from.
Working / Worked
I think it was helpful but I'm still having a little trouble with my memory.
