in 1986, I had a nervous breakdown and was hospitalized. this drug was given to me and wa-la, my life changed. I just did not realize how much until the effects of the medicated faded and I was back where I begin, shit!

Was put on this to prevent migraine but in 6 years did not experience marked depressive episodes. Side effects put me to sleep and gave me the munchies. Only through diligent working out did I not gain weight.

It helps a lot. I can tell when I miss a dosage. It does dry my mouth out, but the benefits offset the side effects.

I also take Celexa for depression and Im supposed to take allegra for allergies as well. The amitriptyline is 10 mg and it works for muscle pain and the depression. Im currently out of it and have to go see the dr again. It dries me out real bad though. I can finally sleep at night. The celexa helps I guess. I get moody when I go off of it. Or so hubby says. LOL

I can tell I feel much worse if I stop this. I have tried twice and went through withdrawals each time so now I just stay on it.
