Effexor worked almost immediately for me and I believe it saved my life. It has recently stopped working because of the antibiotic clarithromycin that I was prescribed for bronchitis. It has been a week of depression and panic attacks. I am scared.

Effexor worked for me for about 4 years...for some reason, it stopped working for me. The initial side effect was a bad headache, but this went away in about a week after beginning treatment.
