Diltiazem is a member of the group of drugs known as Benzothiapines, which are a class of calcium channel blockers, used in the treatment of hypertension, angina pectoris, and some types of arrhythmia. Good results with this medicine.

I only take it when I go into Afib and must work hard or exercise. My doctor said that my stress test showed I had a high heartrate in afib while doing very minimal activity. Can't say I recognize side effects other than becoming slower and slightly dazed.
