This medication controlled my grandmal seizures but not my pettie mal seizures. Changed Medications due to pregnancy.

Was on it for 30 years. Worked good but caused me to have osteoperosis. Went off in 2006 after 15 years of no seizures. Doc thought is was doing more harm than good. July of 2007 seizures came back after being Dx with Myasthenia Gravis. Went on Keppra.

I'm presently taking Dilantin. They have to keep playing with amounts as they can't regulate the levels yet. But other than that it has stabalized the seizures. No side effects yet and I've been taking it for almost 2 years.

Ten years ago before the Lamictal it was controlling my Grand Mal seizures but was still having little ones.

Phynitoin has been wonderful for me personally.I started taking it 30 yrs ago and it makes the difference between living in fear of a fit and just getting on with living my life!! Works for me.

i still have seizures but they are not as bad as they use to be.i can go maybe 3 weeks without getting sick.
