either you avoid the trigger foods or cook them to the point where the proteins inside denature.
avoid corn and citrus
I tried avoiding certain foods fearing it may trigger or exacerbate a flare up. My doctor however has assured me that foods have no effect on uc although these foods could effect an individual if indeed they have some issues other than uc. As an example milk products may have an effect if the person is lactose intolerant.

Simply not drinking milk or watching how much I consume is all I do to help this. However, I feel like I should substitute the foods and beverages. I don't know how to go about it, though.
